A study by financial advisory firm deVere Group found that 80% of high-net-worth (HNW) individuals have asked their financial advisers about including cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin, in their portfolios over the past year, despite the market having a difficult year in 2022.
The study showed that 82% of clients with between $1 million and $5 million of investable assets sought advice on cryptocurrencies.
Nigel Green, the CEO and founder of deVere Group, said that even though the crypto market had its worst performance since 2018, HNWs were still seeking advice about including digital currencies in their portfolios.
He added that these wealthy investors understand that digital currencies are the future of money, and they don’t want to be left behind.
Green also mentioned that the HNWs who were polled may have also seen a surge in interest from institutional investors, like big Wall Street companies, which brings more capital, influence, and confidence to the sector.
This suggests that high-net-worth clients are becoming more aware of the benefits of cryptocurrencies, like being digital, global, borderless, decentralized, and tamper-proof.
